Used to be dearly called Diamond of the Far East which was much more bustling than Hongkong or Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City (the formerly Saigon) became the economic center of Vietnam. It is a study in contrasts between traditional and modern, young and old, rich and poor. This city is situated by the river and has a tropical climate divided into two seasons: the rainy season lasts from May and to late November and the dry season lasts from December to April.

The population has shot passed 10 million - some say it's as high as 14 million - and the urban sprawl reaches south into the Mekong Delta and west towards the Cambodian border. Saigon miraculously transcends its density, chaos and construction dust with spirit and character - charming travellers along the way. It's a remarkable place - if you can keep up with the pace.

ITINERARY

After the pick up your Experience Specialist and driver will take you on a tour of the city that will touch on some of the historical antecedents to modern Ho Chi Minh city as well as delving into some of the more everyday traditional lifestyle of the Saigonese. We will introduce to you how they grow the rice, how they catch a fish but in Saigon city (The unseen part of Saigon).
Enjoy lunch at local restaurant with local specialty. After that we'll head to the center and discover history and culture of Saigon with:
